Ultra tan acquires Alisun!
Heerhugowaard, October 21, 2008Swedish Tanning Technologies AB (STT) – owner of Scandinavians leading producer of solariums, Ultra Tan, is pleased to announce, effective October 19th 2008, the acquisition of Mercuria Beheer B.V. (better known as ALISUN). This group of companies is acquired from JW Holding, Germany.
After a short time of negotiations it became clear, that this step will create a ‘win-win-–situation’ for all parties. Not at least for the customers of ALISUN who will benefit from a new owner dedicated to the tanning industry for more than 20 years.
“We will keep ALISUN as a stand-alone manufacturer of Sunvision-sunbeds with its own distributor-base, and continue production in The Netherlands and benefit from the skilful and dedicated staff”, says Leif Bring, owner and CEO of STT.
For JW Holding, forming the roots of the tanning industry, and who are today’s worldwide active manufacturers of lamps and components for the tanning industry and special applications, the transfer of Alisun to STT, has a strong strategic background: focussing on their core business.
For the new owners, who have already proofed a solid and continuing growth in their former engagement with Ultra Tan, it is a strong commitment to the tanning industry. “Vanity and health” is the key to success for STT who are extremely committed to the industry and are doing a lot in order to stimulate the public awareness of the positive health aspects of tanning. The acquisition of ALISUN is therefore a rational step in the global strategy of growth of Swedish Tanning Technologies AB, also being one of the ‘driving forces’ to gain a ‘paradigm-change’ in the industry.
